It's cold out there. Single-digit cold. A trip to the grocery is inevitable but I think Paul will undertake it before work. The plan for tomorrow is to dismantle the ham I made for New Year's into sandwich slices, casserole dices, and a ham bone for bean soup. We've been eating ham all week so it's all going into the freezer! For dinner I'm roasting a whole chicken (on sale this week for 69 cents a pound), making sweet potatoes (some to share with Spike!) and canned cranberry sauce. We're swapping one hunk of meat for another, but I like to roll with the sales. Maybe some bread too. I can't turn down the chicken, but a nice soup would be really great right now. We'll be waiting a few days though.
I have to say, though, that Spike's snowsuit looks awfully cozy right now.

Hi, got here from Ravelry. Your son is adorable. I have a soft spot in my heart for little boys (I have 3, not so little any longer). I like your resolutions a lot! I too try to avoid the 7 p.m. frozen food aisle solution. A good back up plan is to have the stuff to make homemade "fast food" around, ie: breakfast burritos (tortillas and scrambled eggs with salsa), mini pizzas (english muffins with sauce and mozzarella cheese), tomato soup with grilled cheese, etc. I'll keep checking in!
